Accelerate DFW - Pitch Battle 2020
TIME AND LOCATION
ABOUT THE EVENT
We will hear 3 minute pitches about 4 companies and our experts will break down each of the pitches into areas that are great, good, and those that need some work. Anyone can then vote for the pitch that should move to the finals on Friday. We will also be highlighting elements of great pitches and learning from each of our experts about some of the craziest pitches they have heard and some of the best.
Last year it was 16 companies, a 360-degree stage and a mic. This year we have switched it up! 16 entrepreneurs will be chosen from video pitches submitted and posted to our YouTube channel. The metrics: social media engagement, "likes" and views along with some input from our pitch experts. Round 2 and the Finals will come down to the entrepreneurs’ ability to succinctly talk about their business in a 3-minute pitch and 1-minute elevator pitch, LIVE.
How It Works:
ONE: Submit Your Pitch
Entrepreneurs that have an incorporated business submit video pitches (mp4 format, 5 minute limit) to our website. How you tell that story is up to you -- it can be the traditional talking head or an explainer video, it can even be a music video. As the entrepreneur, you just need to make sure the video explains the problem the company addresses, and the solution you have created to address that problem.
TWO: We Post to Our YouTube Channel
Once we receive your application and uploaded video we will review it and then post it to our YouTube channel for viewing and voting.
THREE: Audience Votes on YouTube
Voting will open on October 12th via our YouTube Channel. The 16 entrepreneurs with the most likes, views & comments on their pitch videos will make it into the LIVE events held during Global Entrepreneurship Week Fort Worth, November 16th - 20th.
FOUR: 3-Minute Pitch
The first four days of Global Entrepreneurship Week Fort Worth 4 pitches will be reviewed along with some segments from our experts about putting togehter powerful pitches. The entrepreneur can use the pitch they submitted initially or they can craft a new pitch for this second round. A secound round of voting will take place and the winner will advance to the finals.
FIVE: 1-Minute Elevator Pitch
The last four entrepreneurs standing will pitch LIVE during our Finals on Friday, November 20th. The format will be a 1-minute elevator pitch and the winner will be determined by our pitch experts.
